Logo Development

Logo/t-shirt design for the Beavercreek High School Marching Band’s 2019 show.

The show was focused around Peter Gabriel’s cover of Elbow’s “Mirrorball.”

The crux of the mark is, of course, the disco ball hanging in the middle. The surrounding elements, however, are just as important—though probably not to a casual observer.

All of the band’s uniforms for the past twenty years have included five stripes, each representing a different trait the band works to instill in its members—Discipline, Citizenship, Dedication, Focus, and Unity. These core tenets help foster better people, better students, and create a found family that one can feel a part of and rely on within the stressful time that is high school. (I’m speaking from experience, here.)

It was important to Director Matt Frost that the stripes be included in the design to help reinforce this sentiment, and create something students could rally around.
