SPIRITS BRAND IDENTITY CONCEPTS
These identity concepts were for a spirits brand based out of Southern California. With deep roots in Los Angeles (including a name inspired by the LA Dodgers), the client wanted the identity to exude SoCal.
With this design, I wanted to try and capture the idea of youth in a place like LA—where you’re getting ready to start your day as the sun goes down.
The neon-inspired type and color palette bring an 80’s flair, while the simplistic line work and sans-serif “spirits” help bring a touch of modern to the overall design. The palm tree shape helps drive home the LA of it all, and serves as a warm and welcoming element in an otherwise sharp and jagged mark.
This second concept turned from the city to the ocean for its inspiration.
A gritty, surfer-style type, is juxtaposed with a beautiful sunset-on-the-water gradient to create an incredibly simple mark that exudes emotion.
I feel as though to everyone outside of it, Los Angeles has an almost mythical aura. It’s where people go to “follow their dreams,” where anything is possible, and no one has a care in the world. It was this emotion I wanted to capture with my mark. That perfect moment where the only things that exists are the beach, the water, the sunset, and you.
