Video & Animation

Below you’ll find examples of video editing and animation I’ve done using Adobe AfterEffects and Premiere. While it isn’t something I’ve found a regular call for in my professional life, they are muscles I enjoy flexing when I get the opportunity.

Kaboom Brand Celebration

A video for Church & Dwight's annual sale's conference, celebrating Kaboom cleaning products. The client provided many videos and clips but generally gave carte blanche on the content with the only direction being that it needed to serve as a hype video to begin the presentation.

Gravity Logo Animations

These short animations of Gravity Branding & Design’s rebrand were created to show off the new logo as well as be used as interstitials in another video edit…

Gravity Brand Launch – Defiance

This particular edit was done for design firm Gravity’s rebrand launch party.

In reference to their name, the firm had settled on “Defy It” as their call to action. They wanted to push boundaries, question reality, and ignite passion…all in the name of defying the conventional.

And in this vein, they wanted to highlight moments of defiance in video form. We settled on four different areas: Brands that Defy, People that Defy, Fiction that Defies, and Moments that Defy.

These four videos were projected on various surfaces around the venue—on walls, on columns, on giant balloons—and this particular version that had all four videos combined into one that was projected in the main space.

Gala Sponsors Animation

These two animations were used as television loops around the venues of the She+ Foundation’s annual gala. I designed the branding for the event and invitations and utilized it in these simple videos that thanked the gala’s donators and sponsors.

Bridge Test VideO

This is, admittedly, a weird one.

A quick shoot and edit for a friend's grad school project, recorded in a basement, using two iPhones taped to cymbal stands. The goal was to test the construction of a balsa wood bridge. We needed to catalog the process, but wanted to do it with some style…

The challenge was to document the entire process, while also making sure to keep it interesting throughout. I chose to show the first few steps in real-time, then utilized quick cuts once the process was established.

(He got an A.)
